    Course Description

• Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy examines the comparative morphology and phylogenetic relationships of vertebrate animals.
 

• Representative organisms, including the lamprey, dogfish shark, pigeon, frog, and cat will be dissected in the laboratory.

    Course Objectives

• To learn and use comparative methods to understand patterns of evolution, function, and development of the vertebrates.
 

• To gain insight into the vertebrate body plan by using comparative dissection techniques.
